LOP IN OUR SCHOOL

HISTORY

The League for the Conservation of Nature (LOP) was founded in 1928. Its "foundung fathers" were brilliant scientists, ecologists and touring experts. The first meeting of LOP took place on 9th of January, 1928. After World War II, the LOP re-stared thanks to activists from Lodz. The offcial date is the 17 of July, 1945. Today, LOP exists in all states of Poland and gathers around 400 000 members, mostly the youth.

TARGETS
  • educational activity to create the correct relationship between society and nature
  • popularizing knowledge about nature and its protection
  • encouraging to do social works for environmental protection and organising those works
  • initiating activities for the environment
  • caring about the law of nature protection and reporting/punishing crimes against it
LOP IN OUR SCHOOL...

... exists from the very beginning. Today it gathers about 400 pupils from 10 classes. Our local leader is professor Tadeusz Ogorzalek. We realize the main targets of LOP itself. However, we also organise a lot of our own activities to protect and deal with the environment (read about in other sections of this website!). For now, have a look at a typical LOP identity card:
